Recently, King Charles III, King of the United Kingdom, reflected on his mother, Queen Elizabeth II's, final moments. The King discussed how his mother requested to spend her final days in Scotland's Balmoral Castle and passed peacefully after having time to rest in one of her most favorite places on Earth. US Weekly's piece on King Charles III's recollection of events is a fascinating read, and it shows that Queen Elizabeth maintains a strong influence on the current iteration of the Royal Family.

A final wish made true

A royal expert claims that the Queen left the world in her sleep. While sobering, it is nice to know that a life well lived ended in the most painless way possible.

According to US Weekly, Queen Elizabeth II loved every moment she was able to spend in the family's primary residence in Scotland. Sadly, the Queen had to cancel multiple engagements before her death, as her health would no longer allow her to fulfill any public obligations. Balmoral Castle transitioned to a place where members of the Royal Family were able to come to terms with what would occur. In the end, this made the Queen's final wish to stay in the castle a blessing in disguise.

King Charles hasn't spoken much about his mother in public since her passing. The speech covered by US Weekly is one of the few times we've been able to hear from the King on this topic. Naturally, he may not want to relive the event's leading up to his mother's death. However, it is nice to know that the King has been able to pick up the pieces bit by bit.
