In his new memoir, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life, James Middleton is opening up about his life. And part of that is taking a look back at some of the big moments in his life. In some cases, those moments were on a very public stage.

One moment in particular that Middleton is opening up about is when he was asked to do a reading at his sister, Catherine's wedding to Prince William. Considering James is dyslexic, reading can be a challenge. And reading in public at such a highly televised event has to be even more daunting.

James Middleton talks about his nerves when asked to read at Princess Catherine's wedding to Prince William

James Middleton opens about this time in his memoir, by talking about not only how nervous he was upon being asked to do the reading, but also what he did in order to push through his dyslexia.

According to US Weekly, it seems like Middleton thought the couple was joking with him when they first asked him to do the reading.

"A reading? I thought they were joking. My mind raced back to school and my stumbling, incoherent efforts to read in front of the class. What were they thinking?"

So how did James Middleton push through this nervousness and deliver a reading that actually left him with offers to visit other churches and organizations to do more readings? In an effort to not let his sister down, he decided to get some help.

While he did try to do it on his own, it was clear that a little bit of help was in order. So, "James met voice coach Anthony Gordon Lennox."
Apparently, Middleton ended up using "a phonetic version of the reading, which included notes on how to intonate certain words," in order to get the reading under his control

On top of the voice coach and the annotated reading, he also chose not to look at Princess Catherine and Prince William while he was doing the reading. He was worried that he might lose his composure and not be able to finish the reading without letting out a nervous giggle. And that is definitely something that we understand.

Honestly, we love getting this glimpse into James Middleton's past, especially in these more public moments.
