Over the weekend of September 6, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan attended a bookstore launch that saw the Duchess of Sussex speaking about this new season of her life. The event, which seemingly took place over the course of two days (or at least that seems to be how long the royal couple was in attendance), saw the duchess talking about the importance of bookstores, including what they have meant to her over the years.

In a lot of ways, a bookstore is a place where one can be themselves. And that seemed to be a part of the message that the duchess shared with those who were there for the launch of Godmothers in Summerland, California.

The Duchess of Sussex was apparently in attendance at Godmothers on Saturday evening as part of a surprise appearance related to Oprah's book club. For that Saturday night look, the duchess opted for a Club Monaco halter neck jumpsuit in black. The look was sleek and elegant and will definitely have people looking for more business ready jumpsuits this Fall. (And while the black jumpsuit is not currently available from the brand, it does seem like they have a different color still for sale.)

Duchess Meghan's fashion seems to be all about the elevated neutrals this fall

Of course, with multiple days involved in this bookstore launch, there was another outfit that was in the spotlight from the duchess. In contrast to the black jumpsuit, Duchess Meghan opted for a cream colored look from Ralph Lauren.

Both looks were all about elevated basics. There was something quite timeless about both the jumpsuit and the two piece set worn by the duchess. In fact, the Ralph Lauren pieces were definitely quite elegant and really worked for the Duchess of Sussex. (The wide leg pants were a statement all on their own.)

It is always so nice to see Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan out and about in California. And a bookstore launch is definitely the kind of event we love to see. The fact that we got some new looks to fall in love with is certainly a nice bonus.
