Did you know that both the U.K. and U.S. versions of The Traitors film in the same location?
Are you a fan of The Traitors? Have you watched both the U.K. and the U.S. versions of the series yet? As a fan of all three versions of the series (the Australian version is pretty fun as well), it was fascinating to binge watch my way through the first season of both the U.K. and the U.S. shows. But the most fascinating aspect was the setting.
Both the U.K. and U.S. versions of The Traitors have the exact same setting. They are both set in a castle and yes, it is the very same castle for both series.
And according to Cosmopolitan, the castle in question is Ardross Castle in Scotland. The property is next to Loch Ness on the River Alness. It is a place that actually hosts weddings and events, as well as the cast members of both the U.K. and U.S. The Traitors series.
The Traitors films in the same location for both the U.K. and U.S. versions of the reality TV program
Not only is the setting of The Traitors the same for both countries, but even some of the games seemed to crossover between the two. Perhaps the biggest difference was the host for each series and the prize itself.
For the U.S. version of The Traitors, the host is the incomparable Alan Cumming, the scottish actor known for both the screen and stage. Whereas on the U.K. side, the host is Claudia Winkleman who is reality TV staple as she has also hosted such shows as The Great British Sewing Bee, Strictly Come Dancing, and more.
Finally we have the prize! In the U.S. the prize pot is up to $250,000, while the U.K. prize is up to £120,000. It is a lot of money and of course, it means that everyone is playing hard for that win.
For us, we love the fact that both shows have the same setting because it lets us get more familiar with the castle and the interesting hiding spots within it. And of course, it just adds to that level of comfort that comes from a stellar binge watching experience.
