Charles Spencer talks about his nephews' support of the Diana Awards charity
On September 20, Charles Spencer welcomed 350 members of the Rock Choir to Althorp. The Rock Choir was there to help record a special for the 25th anniversary of the Diana Award charity.
In fact, Spencer even shared a video to X (formerly Twitter) that showcases the amazing work that went into this recording. And during this event, it seems that he was asked about his nephews, Prince William and Prince Harry.
According to Hello Magazine, Charles Spencer spoke to Chris Ship from ITV about the Diana Award and his nephews. Specifically, he shared with Ship that, "they both recognise this is something of their mother’s and they both support that, and that’s all that really matters in this situation."
Of course, the focus of this event had nothing to do with the princes. And while many royal fans might be interested to learn more about how things are going between Prince William and Prince Harry, and would especially appreciate insight from their maternal uncle, Spencer shifted the focus away from his nephews and back to his late sister and the charity dedicated to her.
"It’s really extraordinary for me, as her brother, to think of the impact Diana continues to have, and it’s a source of great family pride for us that, yes, she has been gone for over a quarter of a century now.
- Charles Spencer
And a lot of the Diana Award winners I’ve met over the past quarter of a century are so intrigued by what she did, and they are inspired to give life a go in a really good direction."
Charles Spencer continues to keep his sister's memory alive while supporting the Diana Award
Considering both brothers continue to do work to help support the Diana Award, it is clear that they are committed to helping keep their mother's memory alive. In April of 2024, both brothers made an appearance in some form at an award ceremony that was held, with Prince Harry showing up virtually from his home in Montecito.
While Charles Spencer may not often speak out about his royal nephews, it is clear that he supports them as best as he can. And we love that he has no problem speaking out when he feels the need as well.
Charles Spencer is clearly a supportive brother and uncle, and we love that he continues to keep his sister's memory alive in his own way.
