Meghan Markle has endured various forms of bullying from the press and social media since her engagement to Prince Harry was announced. In a recent opinion piece, however, Nikki Fowler of Glitter Magazine highlighted the Duchess' ability to rise above the hate thrown towards her over the years.

For those who don't know, Meghan and Prince Harry were vigorously harassed by the British media before they sued a UK-based tabloid and relocated to the United States. Despite the precedent it set, the royal couple's win again the press was not enough to stop the hurtful comments made against them. Unfortunately, this means Meghan is continually expected to take the high road despite the endless vitriol hurled against her. This is a bleak cycle to watch from a distance.

When someone writes a hateful comment about Meghan Markle, they are speaking ill of a woman who dedicates oceans of time towards improving people's lives across the world. In her article, Fowler notes that the Duchess of Sussex just donated her time to Girls' Inc., a nonprofit in Santa Barbara, California, and #HalfTheStory, a charitable organization focusing on improving young people's lives via their interactions with technology.

Here at Tea and Banter, we've covered moments where Meghan and Prince Harry traveled across the world to connect with children who needed help achieving their dreams. Even now, the Duke and Duchess maintain a packed schedule that sees them donate time, money, and influence to numerous causes. If the cyber trolls online got their way, thousands of people around the world would be ignored as they try to find someone who could provide the same level of assistance the Duchess can as a member of the Royal Family.

What's the solution?

Truth be told, the Duchess of Sussex is already handling this situation the best way she can. Rising above the hate and ignoring the trolls is the quickest way to show that hateful content on social media does not have to ruin your life.

Fowler's article claims that Glitter's readership took Markle's side and defended her during a recent dust up on social media. While coming to Meghan's aid, the readers contributed to the recent rise of positive content covering Her Royal Highness. At the end of her article, Fowler declared that Glitter will continue defending Meghan's honor, ensuring that the Duchess' bullies don't get the satisfaction of sullying her reputation or business interests.
