Right on time for Valentine's Day, the streaming release date of A24’s We Live in Time is disclosed as Max welcomes the romantic drama.
Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield starrer, We Live in Time, will begin streaming exclusively on Max just a week before Valentine's Day. It will be there on February 7, and an HBO release will follow on the 8th at 8:00 pm ET.
After getting an October premiere full of tears at the Toronto Film Festival in the US, the story is ready to launch on the screens for unfurling an emotional journey. The story unravels the relationship between Almut (Pugh) and Tobias (Garfield) that takes turns with a surprise encounter.
The truth of their bonding shows its true colours when a difficult truth crosses paths and challenges their moments of togetherness. The unconventional journey is memorable to watch, as the viewers have exclaimed after the premiere. No one can leave with their eyes dry.
Garfield himself opened up about his personal overcoming of grief after having completed the project. In an interview with W Magazine, he said that he was going through a certain phase in life where he needed to reflect on things.
He shared that being a 40-year-old, he had experienced “loss in a very intimate way” and he was unable to find any answer when he questioned, “now what?”
At such a gloomy time, the arrival of the script of We Live in Time was like a candle in the dark, he said. The script showed him that it is only with courage and boldness that one can face the “shortness and sacredness of life.”
According to the screen release details, you need to be a Warner Bros. subscriber, which is a Discovery streaming channel. The streaming service charges around $9.99 per month, and if you want a premium version with zero ads, the charges are higher, at $16.99 per month.
After its theatrical worldwide release, the film made a gross profit of $38.8 million. The film earned $24.6 million domestically and $14.1 million on a global scale.
Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a 78 per cent score from the critics where the majority of them talked about how “powerful” the storyline is, which makes it inevitable for the viewers to not cry.
It is a magical masterplan by Max to have its release date close to Valentine’s Day as this would be a great idea to let the viewers know the enchantment of love blended with grief. It is bound to have an effect on the audience not only because of the marked day but also the importance of realising the preciousness of every moment that life has to offer.
