It was a second chance for the Dynamic Duos that did not make the cut the first time around on MasterChef. After the first two episodes gave us the auditions for who would earn a white apron on this season of MasterChef, it was clear that some of the duos that didn't make the cut really deserved another chance to shine. And clearly we were not alone in thinking this.
As the duos that already earned their white apron entered the MasterChef kitchen, they were given a bit of a surprise as the judges revealed that the chefs that had previously been sent home would be getting a second chance at an apron. This also meant that those chefs who already had an apron did not have to cook in this episode.
MasterChef: Dynamic Duos gives the chefs sent home in the auditions a second chance

The duos took on the challenge of cooking up a brand new dish for the three judges. And they had to do three plates, not just the one plate of the auditions. It was more work, but it was a chance to see how these duos worked under pressure.
With four more aprons on the line, every duo needed to bring it for a chance to stay in the competition. And it was clear that Gordon Ramsay, Tiffany Derry and Joe Bastianich were looking for the very best of the best. This meant that some of the critiques were a bit more intense than last time, but we would expect nothing less from these judges.
In the end though, it is clear that these duos really did deserve these second chance cooks. So which Dynamic Duos are going to earn the final white aprons?
The duos that earned the final aprons are:
- Azu and Javier
- Adam and Joel
- Darce and Courtney
- Jessica and Jesse
