Motorsport's article reports that Hamilton struggled to pilot his Ferrari SF-25 as quickly as his teammate Charles Leclerc, which could be a consequence of Hamilton's lack of experience racing for his new organization.
Hamilton finished the Monaco Grand Prix 51.387 seconds after the competition's winner, Lando Norris, and 48.256 seconds after Leclerc.
While practicing for the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend, Hamilton criticized F1's new rules and claimed that the FIA's new focus on flexible front wings is a move "in the wrong direction."
Hamilton felt like the "flexi-wings [were] a positive" when teams decided to use them. Now, F1's engineers and drivers must adjust to the new rules' ramifications in the middle of the 2025 season.

Formula1.com reports that Lewis Hamilton will start the 2025 Spanish Grand prix in the 5th position after his efforts during the race's qualifying session.
While his current spot on the grid isn't what he was looking for, Hamilton acknowledged that it's "definitely an improvement from where we’ve been."
Hamilton's 5th place performance in qualifying came after a rocky week of practices. According to Formula1.com, Hamilton struggled so much that he even called his SF-25 "undrivable" at one point.
When asked about his strategy to keep Ferrari motivated during this tough stretch, Hamilton replied, "I wouldn’t say that I’m motivating the team at the moment. You just keep your head down and keep working away. You just don’t give up."
It seems like Hamilton's perseverance gave him a fair chance to finish the Spanish Grand Prix on the podium. As expected, the legendary driver confirmed to Formula1.com during an interview that a Top 3 finish is indeed his goal.
After recognizing the extremely competitive field ahead of him, Hamilton exclaimed, "Ah, it’s going to be close. It’s really close between us all, so I’m going to try and get on the podium for once!”
