The season finale of Kitchen Nightmares saw Gordon Ramsay heading to a Texas restaurant called Simmer Down. And there’s no denying that this restaurant definitely needed to simmer down. One of the interesting things about this season of Kitchen Nightmares was how often relationships were being hurt by these restaurants.

So we were not surprised when we learned that the owner of the Simmer Down was currently separated from his wife because of the restaurant. What we really appreciated in this episode was the fact that it wasn’t just about fixing the restaurant for Gordon Ramsay, it was also about reconnecting this couple, who was about to celebrate 27 years of marriage. If there’s one thing that we can count on when it comes to Chef Ramsay, it is that he really does seem to care about the people that he’s trying to help. And this was especially true in this episode because he didn’t really get mad at them for the mistakes they were making so much as he made it quite clear that he was here to help, but he wasn’t going to force them to take his help.

And pretty quickly, it became clear that people were willing to listen to Gordon Ramsay. They did want his help. It’s just hard sometimes to let people know that you are going to listen to them and you are going to make the changes necessary.

Kitchen Nightmares headed to the Simmer Down in Texas to wrap up the latest season

This restaurant likely struggled more because of the relationship issues happening. It’s hard to care about food when it seems like your life is falling apart. I 100% believe that the restaurant owner had stopped caring because the person he love was no longer in the picture so having Chef Ramsay step in and help made all the difference. For the most part, everyone listened to what Gordon Ramsay had to say. They wanted to make the change and they did what they could to prove that they were all here for the right reasons.

One of the biggest issues with this restaurant was that not only was a lot of the food salty, and not enough of a draw to bring customers back, but people were shouting at each other in such a way that you could hear it throughout the restaurant. No one wants to eat in a place where people are screaming at each other. And that was something that Gordon Ramsay shut down very quickly.

Yes, there was definitely some issues, but we would expect nothing less from Kitchen Nightmares. And big changes like this can be hard to handle when you have been working a certain way for so long. But I have to say that this was probably one of the easiest looking restaurant reformations this season.

I feel like this was a great way to end this season of Kitchen Nightmares. There was drama and a much needed refresh for a restaurant that was struggling with more than just business, but also relationships. Honestly, this one left us wanting more. So we can’t wait for next season.
