A scandal involving Prince Andrew just made things even more complicated for King Charles.
In a jaw dropping article, GB News reports that King Charles denies any connections to a Chinese spy who was allegedly involved with Prince Andrew at one point in time.
There's twists and turns all over this report, so we're going to break things down as simply as we can.
GB News states that Dominic Hampshire, Prince Andrew's senior advisor, filed a witness statement accusing King Charles of "smuggling" him and Prince Andrew into Windsor Castle for meetings.
The meetings in question focused on "what the Duke can do moving forwards in a way that is acceptable to His Majesty." Other parts of GB News' report clarify that Hampshire meant Prince Andrew's options to earn income in the private sector.
Yang Tengbo, the alleged Chinese spy of focus, was a junior partner in Eurasia Global Partners, a company that managed an investment fund that could've provided Prince Andrew income for the rest of his life.
The House of Windsor can't catch a break

King Charles' alleged connection to Yang Tengbo would be notable since the latter was banned from the United Kingdom for national security reasons.
GB News writes that Tengbo was connected to the United Front Work Department, an entity known to be "a controversial arm of the Chinese state."
GB News explains that the United Front Work Department "seeks to befriend high-profile figures and shape narratives about China." This would explain the media's concern with King Charles and Prince Andrew's alleged connection to a person with ties to the organization.
Dominic Hampshire claims that he tried to consult British security officials about Yang and his relationships within the Royal Family. Later in his statement, Hampshire also claims that his attempts were ignored for months until a meeting where "he was told there were concerns about Yang's level of influence."
Despite the controversial information included within his witness statement, Hampshire does his best to put Prince Andrew's name in a positive light.
Hampshire claims that Prince Andrew never took money from a Chinese entity and "fully complied" when advised to end all contact with Yang Tengbo.
Obviously, the implications of this case are extremely complicated. GB News' report focuses on Dominic Hampshire's witness statement, but there are so many other elements to consider when searching for what's true and what isn't.
Earlier this week, Prince William shocked everybody when he retained the same law firm that represented his mother during her divorce from the then Prince Charles.
It's likely that these two stories are not related at all, but I'm sure Prince William's confusing decision isn't something that King Charles wants to process right now.
As always, we'll keep you updated on the Royal Family's latest developments as they come.
