Unfortunately, some members of the Royal Family are dealing with a sense of loss this holiday season.
According to a report from Hello! Magazine, King Charles and Queen Camilla are leaning against purchasing a new dog to add to their family. Hello!'s Melanie Macleod writes that the King and Queen appeared to be in the market for a new dog to help fill the hole left by their beloved Beth's passing. Late last month, King Charles said as much when he spoke with presenters Alan Carr and Amanda Holden. Now, however, it appears this is not the case.
When will the dog lovers find a new bundle of joy?
Understandably, Macleod surmises that the wound left by Beth's passing is still too raw. For those unaware, the couple lost their furry companion in November. This means the loss only occurred around a month ago.
Hello! Magazine spoke with a royal source that claims Queen Camilla is not ready to find a new pet. This is surprising since the King and Queen hosted rescue animals from the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home last week. News of the couple's engagement with the animals in need appeared to be a sign that their grieving process was almost over. Now, it's unclear how long it will take for the King and Queen's Jack Russell Terrier, Bluebell, to gain a new friend.
Luckily, King Charles and Queen Camilla's decision did not stop them from trying to find some new owners for their four-legged visitors. Percy, Darcie, Elspeth, Harper, Missy and Shadow were the stars of the show as they were photographed on various bespoke footstools. The props were made by students and community groups associated with King Charles' The King's Foundation.
The photo shoot gave the dogs a chance to get some fresh air and spend time with two of the most high profile hosts the UK can offer. Kaye Mughal, a center manager based in Windsor, said that the event got the animals in the festive spirit and gave The King's Foundation a creative opportunity to test out their craftsmanship and designs.
Last year, The King's Foundation produced luxury kimonos made out of old royal curtains. The bespoke footstools used for the photo shoot were constructed with fabrics found throughout the late Queen Elizabeth's family and private rooms.
Macleod writes that the eight footstools will be auctioned off to support The King's Foundation's mission. The starting price for the custom items is £250.
