Here's how Prince Harry took part in Remembrance Day in his own way
Although Prince Harry might not have been with the royal family for Remembrance Day, that does not mean that he did not take part in the day. In fact, it seems that the Duke of Sussex did his part to bring a smile to a number of faces on November 10.
While he may not have been in London or taking part in the services, Prince Harry did step up for a number of children from Scotty's Little Soldiers who took part in the Royal British Legion's march. So how did he do that?
According to Hello Magazine, it seems that Prince Harry decided to send sweets to the children! And since he is an ambassador for Scotty's Little Soldiers, it makes perfect sense.
Prince Harry sent to sweets to the children of Scotty's Little Soldiers for their Remembrance Day march
The charity, which was started by Nikki Scott, an army widow whose husband died in Afghanistan, helps to support the children of service members who have lost a parent.
Speaking about Remembrance Day and how the Duke of Sussex has continued to support the charity, Scott shared that, "He’s very much in contact. He sent the children sweets today as well. They all have sweets in their pockets from Prince Harry."
On top of sending sweets for the children, Prince Harry also wrote a letter to the charity ahead of Remembrance Day that included a photo of the prince wearing a "Scotty's Scarf." So what did the letter itself have to say?
"As we approach Remembrance Day, I want to take a moment to reflect on the profound significance of this occasion and what it means for each of you. This day is a time not only to honour the extraordinary sacrifices made by our service members but also to recognise the impact these sacrifices have on families, especially ones like yours.
- Prince Harry
Each of you carries a unique story shaped by the bravery of a parent who served our country. I understand, perhaps more than most, the weight of losing a parent at a young age. It can be overwhelming and isolating. Yet, in the midst of that heartache, we find strength in the love and memories left behind, and I have seen how communities like yours can offer deep comfort and healing."
It likely comes as no surprise that Prince Harry takes work with Scotty's Little Soldiers seriously. And we love to hear that he is doing more than just writing letters, but also sending things for the kids to enjoy. That being said, his message to the children on the charity was certainly quite heartfelt and moving.
Even the most simple acts of kindness can go a long way. And it is clear that Prince Harry is doing what he can to make a difference even in small ways.
