Harry Potter Wizards of Baking took our bakers to Gringotts Wizarding Bank
Episode 2 of the Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking's first season saw our bakers heading to Gringotts Wizarding Bank with a very special guest judge joining the fun. Warwick Davis, who was not only one of the bakers in the film series, but actually had two other roles in the movies, joined judges Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef in experiencing the magic of the remaining six teams of bakers.
The six teams were told that they would be going head to head with two teams having to bake up a display featuring the main hall of the bank, two teams creating a masterpiece featuring the bank vaults and finally two teams doing the tunnels in the bank. And not only did this showpiece have to be fully edible and three feet tall, but there also had to be a hidden element.
It was definitely a fascinating episode of Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking, especially if you are a fan of the original movies. It was magical to head back to the bank and even see glimpses of the scenes that are going to inspire these different pieces. And while there were some hits this episode, there were also some misses with these bakes.
Obviously, with it being head to head battles, one team would win, and one would lose. And the three teams that lost would be in danger of going home. It makes sense, and it was actually quite expected.
What really was interesting in this episode was the struggles that some of the bakers had. Not only did we see cakes hit the ground in the kitchen, but some of the bakers struggled to get their cakes to perform in the judging. Obviously a cake doesn’t perform, but this is a competition about magic, so we expect a higher level of experience when it comes to the bakes.
Honestly, this was another fun episode. And while we were sad to see Kimberly and Ashley go home, we weren't as surprised as we expected to be with the results.
We can't wait to see what comes next with the Wizards of Baking. And we are eager to see who else pops up from the original films.
