Harry Potter Wizards of Baking has arrived on Food Network and they are going hard early
Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking has officially kicked off on Food Network (and streaming on Max). And it is truly a magical viewing experience for fans of both Harry Potter and baking competitions.
Right away it becomes clear that Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is definitely not taking it easy on the bakers in their first season. In fact, while nine teams of bakers stepped into Hogwarts to prove that they could create magical 2 foot tall, showpieces, by the end of the two hour premiere multiple teams had left the competition.
Unlike in most competitions, where one team might be eliminated, this time three different teams were sent home by the end of the episode. Unfortunately for these three teams, they simply did not meet the high standards that our judges, Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef were expecting.
While they definitely got the chance to not only enter the magical fireplace, and meet the hosts of the show, Oliver and James Phelps, they didn’t have what it took to get a ticket onto the Hogwarts express train. And considering what they put out, you can tell that there are very high standards for this competition. Because there is no denying that all three teams created magical showpieces.
However, this competition is about more than just the magic, it’s also about creating delicious creations. Not only that, but you have to take your designs to the next level. If you can’t do that, then you’re not moving onto the next challenge.
If you are a fan of Harry Potter and the Wizarding World, and you love baking competitions, this show is for you. It has it all. It has talented bakers, it has the magic of the movies, it has stars from the original movies and it has epic bakes. This is one of those competitions that we are already obsessed with.
And if there’s one thing we hope happens out of this season, it’s that we get another season of magic. We may only be one episode into the first season of Harry Potter Wizards of Baking, but we are ready for more. We want a second season, we want more talented bakers, and we want to see just how big these bakers can get.
Have you watched the first episode yet? What did you think? Were you surprised that three teams got sent home in the first episode?
