We all know that 2024 was a difficult year for the royal family. From multiple members of the family dealing with cancer, to the injury to Princess Anne and even Queen Camilla's holiday illness, this has been a rough year for the royals. But that doesn't mean that the work stops. And there were still plenty of public engagements and trips that took place throughout the year.

As many of us who follow the royal family know, Princess Anne is perhaps the hardest working royal in the family. But in 2024, it seems like she wasn't the only member of the family doing the most.

According to the Daily Mail, a new report has revealed that both Duchess Sophie and Princess Anne took part in the same number of overseas trips. Specifically, the two senior royals visited nine countries, although Princess Anne definitely earned herself more miles.

It has been said that while Duchess Sophie racked up over 28,000 miles during her travels in 2024, there is no denying that Princess Anne had her beat at nearly 42,000 miles traveled. Of course, there is no denying that the Duchess of Edinburgh put in a lot of work this year, as she not only did multiple overseas trips, but also did plenty of engagements in the UK as well.

Duchess Sophie matches Princess Anne in terms of being one of the hardest working royals in 2024

Clearly Duchess Sophie is not just a hard working senior royal, she is a trusted one. She had some high profile trips in 2024 including one to the African nation of Chad, as well as one to Ukraine. And she was a solid representative for the crown. She stepped up when the family needed her most and she did it with style and grace.

With both Princess Anne and Duchess Sophie stepping up in 2024 as King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Princess Catherine had to take a step back, the royal family continued to have a global presence. The princess royal and Duchess of Edinburgh were not the only ones who stepped up their game in 2024, as the Duke of Edinburgh was not far behind his sister and wife when it came to royal travel and engagements.

Thanks to all three of these senior royals, both the king and the Princess of Wales were able to take the time they needed for their health in 2024.

It should be interesting to see how 2025 goes for the royal family, and if we will see Princess Anne and Duchess Sophie continuing their push to be considered two of the hardest working members of the family.
