Duchess Meghan shared some of the holiday traditions that she and Prince Harry share with their children
The holidays are upon us and with Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex living in the U.S. with their children, there are certain traditions that these two share with their children that is uniquely their own. For the Duchess, being a U.S. citizen means celebrating Thanksgiving in November, and of course the couple also celebrates Christmas.
Recently, the Duchess of Sussex sat down for an interview with Marie Claire, where she opened up about the holidays and the traditions that she and Prince Harry are sharing with their young children. And yes, they are celebrating Thanksgiving, even if it is a more low-key holiday.
According to Hello Magazine, Duchess Meghan shared that one of the traditions that they have with their children for Christmas is leaving treats out for Santa's reindeers. According to the Duchess, it is all about having "carrots for the reindeer."
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan keep things simple for the holidays
And for Thanksgiving, it seems that it is about having a family meal, inviting friends and family and just enjoying each other's company. She did share that "being close to my mom is great."
Honestly, it sounds like the traditions that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are sharing with their children are more low-key and about being with the family. With two young children, it is also important to have fun and spend time together.
Speaking of spending time with the family, the Duchess of Sussex shared, "We're always making sure we have something fun to do. Like any other family you spend time having a great meal and then what do you do? Play games, all the same stuff, someone brings a guitar — fun."
Previously, Prince Harry shared that one thing that they do at Christmas is open the presents on Christmas Eve instead of Christmas Day. And this is a tradition that is part of his family, which is a nice way to incorporate both of their holiday traditions into their combined family.
Honestly, this sounds like a way to keep things simple, while also giving their children a chance to enjoy the holidays together. And we love that at Christmas it is about not only the family time, but also the little things that bring the spirit of Santa into their home.
