In the final episode of season one of Duchess Meghan‘s podcast, “Confessions of Female Founder,” she opened up about her past pregnancies. While speaking to the founder of Spanx, Sara Blakely, the Duchess of Sussex started to talk about things like footwear that she would wear when pregnant. This is because Blakely is starting a new business that is meant to bring together the idea of elegant high heels and comfortable sneakers.
In talking about her footwear from a few years ago, the Duchess shared that with both of her pregnancies she actually gained around 65 pounds. And at the time she was still wearing stilettos with 5 inch heels. Not only that but typically those heels had a pointy toe.
Especially when she was pregnant with Prince Archie, she would be taking part in royal duties that would see her having to wear those elegant heels and specific outfits to fit the look she was trying to portray. This led to her really leaning on Prince Harry at the time.
Duchess Meghan opens up about her pregnancy weight gain
On the podcast, she shared that she would cling to her husband because she didn’t want to fall. And if you’re anything like us and remember those days when the British media would tear her apart for things like that, you might be looking at those images in a new light.
It makes perfect sense for her not to let go of her husband if she was worried about falling. She was pregnant and uncomfortable, and trying to put on a professional face. And maybe it’s me, but the simple fact that she was pregnant should have allowed her grace while performing royal duties. Of course, we know that did not happen and it still doesn’t happen.
It is interesting to hear Duchess Meghan talking about her pregnancies and opening up about her weight gain. We really appreciate her honesty on the podcast and I really hope that we will get a second season of the podcast with even more of these interviews. Not only because it’s interesting to hear from the other female founders, but also because it’s interesting to hear the Duchess talking about her own experiences and life.
