The former footballer, David Beckham has been a huge supporter of the Royal family and he is proud to be one. For that, the Royal family did not forget to honour him for his support, for which Beckham got emotional.

David Beckham and his wife made a surprise appearance at an event at the king and queen’s royal residence on Tuesday, January 21. The event was a state banquet for welcoming Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and his wife.

Beckham, the father of four, was celebrated for his humanitarian work. His work as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF for the last 20 years has gained him a name in the country and worldwide.

Due to this, he was named as an ambassador for the King’s Trust, which is an organisation aiming to preserve traditional skills. The organisation was founded by the monarch.

The ultimate pinnacle of pleasure is to watch the transformation of communities through his work with UNICEF. The urban regeneration and planning, and supporting of sustainable food production mean a lot for the said project. Teaching rural skills to the people remains an integral part as well.

David Beckham is emotional about the Royal family

As per Hello Magazine, David Beckham confessed himself that he “always gets emotional talking about anything with our Royal family”.

He admitted that he felt honoured that he was brought up in a family who were great admirers of the Royal family themselves. This has left a great impact on him throughout his life and has shaped his actions accordingly.

This is why he was with UNICEF and immediately said yes as soon as the King asked him to join hands with the foundation. He said that he called his mother to break this news and Sandra, his mom, “burst into tears”.

Beckham could not stop praising the King who, in his viewpoint, is “an incredible man” and he has been one for the last five to ten years, even “for decades”.

He revealed that they both share similar interests like beekeeping, they both love the countryside and both love the idea of “empowering young people”. He was truly honoured to receive the responsibility of doing so.

Talking further about the shared passion, he disclosed that after a meeting with Charles last year, he realised that the love of the countryside has allowed him to learn more rural skills which is a central part of the foundation’s work.

Hearing from the King about the foundation’s work, particularly in the beekeeping segment, was an inspiration for David Beckham. He was totally in awe of how His Majesty’s foundation is working day and night, and compared his beekeeping tips during his visit to Highgrove Gardens.

David Beckham believes in helping young people and finds solace in expanding their horizons, he continued to explain. He opened up about his plans for the foundation’s education programmes and the relevant efforts for strengthening young people regarding their “greater access to nature”.
