One of the biggest stories in the world of sports, entertainment, and questionable parenting has received a major update!
In a new advertisement posted by Stella Artois' official YouTube channel, David Beckham, world famous soccer player, travels to the United States to find his long lost brother, Dave Beckham (who looks strikingly similar to Matt Damon).
When David first meets Dave, he's hesitant to give too much away. Luckily, Dave is a sociable guy who's already hosting a cookout by the time David arrives. The brothers' first interaction with each other highlights the cultural differences between them. Dave, the American, offers David, an Englishman, a plate of Buffalo wings.
David looks confusingly at the meat and asks, "you...eat buffalo?"
To which Dave calmly replies, "no, it's just chicken. It was INVENTED in Buffalo - the city."
A positive development for the two siblings
After the brothers move past the origin of Buffalo wings, one of Dave's guest throws him an American football (you know, the oblong one) and asks him to do "the thing."
Wanting to show off to his guest, Dave casually takes the American football and punts it somewhere into the stratosphere. After seeing this feat of athleticism, David accepts that Dave is indeed his long lost brother and asks, "you drink Stella?"
Dave, as if somebody asked him if water is wet, replied, "I have taste, David."
After a shared nod of respect, the two men toast their bottles of Stella Artois and David says, "there's something I have to tell you" while placing is arm around Dave's shoulder.
Offscreen, David tells Dave that the he's a world famous soccer player. To gauge just how famous his brother is, Dave asks, "so, how famous are you? Like, Matt Damon famous?"
"Maybe...Ben Affleck famous," David clarified.
"Ah, that's a shame," Dave lamented.
A hilarious spot before the big game
David Beckham and Matt Damon's chemistry together in Stella Artois' new ad is sure to make viewers chuckle during the Super Bowl's infamous commercial breaks. The description for the spirits company's YouTube video asks viewers to catch the commercial on television February 9th, 2025.
There's no word on David Beckham's future plans with Stella Artois as a pitchman. The success of this commercial could lead to other opportunities for the legendary athlete and businessman.
