Did you know that January 29 is National Puzzle Day? Are you looking for something to keep you entertained this spring? Then you might be excited to learn that there is a new BritBox original series coming our way and while it is technically a mystery series, it’s also a comedy. And if that sounds like something you’d enjoy, then you need some Ludwig in your life.

So what makes Ludwig the perfect celebration for National Puzzle Day (especially since it doesn't release until March 20)? First of all, we have our first trailer for the upcoming series on BritBox starring David Mitchell as a puzzle setter named John, who is also known as Ludwig. And then there is the fact that in this series, that puzzle setter is an identical twin who has to step into the role of his brother, James, who happens to be a DCI for a major crimes team. So how does a man who puts together puzzles step into his more outgoing brother's life to figure out what happened to him and help solve his latest case?

Ludwig - Series 1
NEW TRAILER for “Ludwig” starring David Mitchell in honor of National Puzzle Day!

This trailer is amazing. It has humor, mystery, and plenty of puzzle work. Ludwig is a genius in his own way and he sees the world a bit differently from other people, including his brother. And that might just be what helps him to figure out what happened to his brother, while also keeping up the facade that he is his brother.

Apparently, this series has been so well received in the UK that it has already been greenlit for a second season. Which, if BritBox viewers fall in love with it as well, might join the first season of Ludwig on the streaming platform.

Maybe it is me, but I am excited for this series. I love that it combines a mystery with comedy, while also giving us a look at how puzzle solving can be applied to more real-world applications. And at the same time, the cast seems to have an interesting chemistry that works, even in the trailer. So if it bleeds through here, we can only imagine what it will look like in full on our screens.
