In a press release, Birmingham City FC confirmed that camera crews have been following the team all season. The crew's coverage could be the most comprehensive the club has ever produced. The organization press release confirms that cameramen shot footage of first team players, members of the coaching staff, and key figures from the club's ownership group.

According to Birmingham City, the docuseries will highlight the club's day-to-day operations and "explore the unique cultural heritage of Birmingham City and a supporter base who have remained loyal despite a sustained period without success or silverware."

The aforementioned supporter base is one of the most loyal in English football, as the club hasn't competed in the English Premier League since 2011.

In an Instagram post celebrating the club's recent promotion, Tom Brady wrote that its "Straight back up to the EFL championship," and that "NFL fans are getting a crash course in the English football pyramid.”

The team earned its promotion after defeating Peterborough United FC on April 8th.

From the outside looking in, it appears that Amazon believes in the viability of association football as a product and media genre. Along with the aforementioned documentaries, Amazon airs UEFA Champions League games in the UK market.

Sony's Whisper imprint invests heavily in the production of football content as well, as it creates digital shows covering UEFA Champions League, the FIFA World Cup, and UEFA Women's EURO.

Despite the fanfare surrounding the new docuseries' announcement, an official release date was not mentioned in Birmingham City FC's press release or Deadline's article. However, the sources claim that the project will be released this summer.
