When last we left The Traitors, our two remaining Traitors, Danielle and Carolyn, were at odds. Let’s face it, they’ve been at odds for the past few episodes. But as we left, they couldn’t decide on a course of action. When we pick up this week, they’re still butting heads.

Even with Boston Rob gone, the two remaining can’t seem to get along. Trust has been broken and it seems it won’t be easily restored. But can it be restored at all? In the end, they don’t recruit a third, but rather choose murder. The victim is Sam, which makes some sense as he was starting to build a coalition.

But it’s immediately clear that neither Danielle nor Carolyn trusts each other. And it’s what this entire week will be about. Each of them sets out trying to build a coalition with the remaining six players in preparation for a showdown at the Roundtable.

First, we get our challenge of the week. It’s based on picks made by the Traitors, so the rest of the group is trying to look for clues. Danielle wisely let Carolyn make some picks that deflect suspicion from her, and in the process Carolyn’s outspoken comments to try and up the prize pot have one of her staunchest supporters—Dylan—beginning to wonder if it’s all an act.

The challenge goes poorly, and the group nets only half the money. Worse yet, Carolyn has a target on her back. She tries to rally support, but it’s unclear whether it will be her or Danielle that comes out on top at the Roundtable.

After a bit of a muted start, the two Traitors go after each other again. Both Danielle and Carolyn shout out their evidence and try to sway the others. When it goes to the vote, it’s unclear who will gain the advantage.

Carolyn is the first to share, voting for Danielle. But when Ivar switches his allegiance to Danielle, voting for Carolyn with the second vote, it’s clear things aren’t going well. Delores votes for Tom and Tom votes for Delores. So, it’s a couple wasted votes.

It comes down to the rest. With seven votes in, it sits 3-2 against Carolyn with Dylan casting the final vote. In keeping with the tradition of the season, Dylan turns against Carolyn with his vote, banishing her from the Castle. She reveals she’s a Traitor, and the rest of the group rejoices.

As we leave, Danielle is again offered the chance to recruit a Traitor. This time she sends an invitation to Britney, who will either join her or die. But that’s a decision for next week!
