If there is one thing we can count on from a royal event, it is that the women will be wearing impressive hats. In fact, there is simply no denying that they know how to pick the perfect headpieces for any occasion.
One thing we are especially grateful for is X (formerly Twitter) accounts like Remoulade Sauce, which break down a lot of the details of the fashion being worn by the women and sometimes the men of the royal family. And luckily for us, this includes the hats and headpieces that are being worn.
Even during some of the more serious events, such as the Service of Remembrance, the women of the royal family are able to bring a sense of flair to their looks with the help of their hats. So of course, we had to talk about five of our favorites from 2024.
5 of the best hats worn by the women of the royal family in 2024
Princess Catherine at the Service of Remembrance on November 10
Considering the difficult year that Princess Catherine has had to contend with in 2024, we haven't had as many opportunities to see her rocking some of her more impressive hats. That being said, her hat for the Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph was definitely an eye catcher. And according to @Remisagoodboy on X, this hat is a new addition to her collection from Juliette Botterill Millinery.
Duchess Meghan during the Colombia trip in August
There is something about a more simple yet elegant hat that just works. And at the same time, this is the type of hat that we can see anyone wearing. The Duchess of Sussex's Hannia Char Boater Hat was definitely on the plainer side, and yet we really loved this look. The fact that she was able to dress it up with a black and white striped maxi dress on the same day that she wore it with a sleeveless knit top and skirt look means that this is a versatile piece for anyone.
Princess Anne at the Paris Olympics
Princess Anne rocked the most dressed down hat of 2024 and we love her for it. While representing Team GB at the Olympics, the Princess Royal could be seen wearing a Team GB Bucket Hat from Adidas. The hat featured the Union Jack and was a great way to show off team pride, while also being a more casual look for a senior royal at work. Honestly, this might not seem like an impressive hat, but it was definitely one of our favorite ones this year.
Queen Camilla at the Palace of Holyroodhouse during a garden party
Queen Camilla has been known to wear some pretty unique hats, and in 2024 one of our favorites has to be the light blue Philip Treacy hat that she wore in Scotland for one of the summer season garden parties. The matching rose on the hat was a fun addition to the look that added a touch of elegance to a hat that would have otherwise been on the more plain side. That being said, the color alone made this a winner.
Duchess Sophie at The Palace of Holyroodhouse for a garden party
At the same time that Queen Camilla was making a statement with her blue Philip Treacy hat, Duchess Sophie was also giving us something to talk about with her own hat choice. In this case, it turns out that the Duchess of Edinburgh was rocking a Jane Taylor hat that she has worn in the past. And according to the @Remisagoodboy account, the hat is the Lilac Brimmed Hat that she previously wore in 2015 to Royal Ascot.
Do you pay attention to the hats that are worn by the royal women? Were any of your favorites on this list? Which hat were you in love with in 2024?
